The Ashland City Library hosted a book signing on April 4 with author Sherry Galloway Willis. Willis’ book, Cowboy Tad the Triangle Man, was a runaway best seller! All available copies were snatched up early. Ms. Willis is a gifted speaker and many patrons are hoping for more books and visits.

Ashland Library patrons enjoyed good food, good company and great music by violinist Judith Priest on March 9. The luncheon was so enjoyable that it has been decided to have a library tea on May 18. Anyone wanting to help host the tea is urged to contact Cara or Khrista at 620-635-2589.

The Ashland Library received 68 new children’s books with a grand total value of $1,061.53. The Ashland Library and its patrons are grateful for the assistance of the Libri Foundation, the Catherine Klinger Memorial and the community members who helped make this wonderful addition to the library possible.

Theresa Peters Casper and Kayla Tonne

Reception Enjoyed!
A come and go reception honoring the anniversary of the Ashland Library Building was held on September 16, 2007. Senator Ruth Teichman attended and honored the library with a Kansas Senate commendation for 25 years of service in the current location.

James Naismith (portrayed by Bill Worley) visited the Ashland City Library on April 19. Naismith, inventor of basketball and first coach of the famous KU Jayhawks, gave a short program, taking questions and discussing the origins of the game. The library thanks Nathan Shupe for making a basketball and hoops available to enthusiasts.
