Ann E. Liston of Fort Hays State University will lead a discussion of Epitaph for a Peach by David Mas Masumoto at 2 PM on Sunday, October 31, sponsored by the Ashland Library, 604 Main St.
To help enjoy the “flavor” of this book, bring a peach dessert to share as we sample three of life’s greatest pleasures—eat, talk and read!

This final book in a four-part “Food for Thought” series is a delightful narrative on the author’s life as a Japanese American peach and grape farmer in California. Relationships, weather, the market, frustrations, and joys are all presented by Masumoto with poetic flair and a sense of humor.

Birney is an independent scholar and partner in Ride into History, an historical performance touring troupe.  She holds a Ph.D. in American Studies from the University of Kansas.  Birney has been leading TALK discussions since 1994.

Monday, July 5:  Froggy Visits the Library!  Froggy comes in costume and reads, 10:00 am.  Then on to the City Pool for lunch and water fun with Sheriff John Ketron.

Emerick, historian for the 31st Bomb Squadron,  spent 17 years compiling the stories, diaries and letters of more than 120 men from the squadron, including her father.

Award-winning author and speaker Kim Vogel Sawyer will speak at the Ashland Library on Saturday, February 27, at 2:00.  Kim will be speaking on the theme, “Live Lessons Through Chocolate.”

Kim has written, “As an author of inspirational Christian fiction, it is my goal to create stories that will edify God’s children and offer evidence of the hope we can all possess when we place our hearts and souls in God’s very capable hands.”
